How pohs pays

The whole model in one line: pohs earns an affiliate commission on books it links, and once a creator claims their page, that commission is theirs. No fees, no cut of your own income.

What pohs earns

One thing only: the affiliate commission Amazon (~4.5% on books) or Bookshop.org (10% flat) pays when a viewer buys through a link โ€” at no extra cost to the buyer.

What you pay

Nothing. pohs is free to viewers and creators. We never charge you and never take a share of your own sponsorships, ads, or memberships.

What you earn

When you claim your page, the affiliate links carry your tags. Every purchase from your back catalog routes the commission to you.

YouTube auto-tags now. That’s the floor.

Amazon tags inside YouTube prove the mention economy is real. Here’s everything a tag can’t be.

FAQ

What is pohs?

pohs reads publicly available videos and pulls out the books mentioned in them โ€” with the moment and context of each mention, and links to buy or borrow. Every book traces back to the episode it came from.

Where do these book lists come from?

Public videos. Mentions are identified from the video’s own audio, and every quote is checked against the transcript before it appears. Nothing is invented; unverifiable mentions are dropped.

Do you make money from creators’ content? Do you take a cut?

No. We don’t charge creators, and we never take a share of a creator’s own income. pohs earns one thing only: an affiliate commission — the small referral fee Amazon or Bookshop.org pays when someone buys through a link, at no extra cost to the buyer. On an unclaimed page that commission goes to pohs and keeps the service free. When a creator claims their page, that affiliate revenue routes to them instead.

Is a page official, or endorsed by the creator?

Not unless it says so. Pages are built automatically from public episodes. A page becomes creator-run only after the creator claims it — then they control what it shows and where the links point.

I’m a creator — how do I claim my page?

Use the claim tool. Once you verify the channel is yours, you can edit or hide anything, set your own Amazon and Bookshop links so the earnings are yours, and manage future episodes.

I want my content removed.

Email a removal request to bassam@pohs.ai and we’ll take it down. If you’d rather keep the page but control it yourself, claim it instead.

How accurate are the lists?

Mentions come from the video’s own audio and quotes are verified verbatim against the transcript. Covers and buy links are matched by title and author, so an edition can occasionally differ — claim your page to correct anything.

Does it cost anything?

No. pohs is free for viewers and creators.
